Hello all. I have a dream of seeing many of the United States National Parks, GLacier National Park, Bryce, and Yellowstone mainly ! ANyway... what would be the best bet to plan this ?? Like a 2 or 3 week vacation and just drive from park to park ?? I'm not quite sure how to start... I;ve never been to the dead center of the US and it seems like some unique places to see. It sounds like a road trip will be the best way, a kind of (not-so) cross-country type-thing. Be prepared to do a LOT of driving. I did a similar thing one through the southern states, stopping at the Grand Canyon and key spots in NM, Texas etc. Two and a half weeks should be enough time unless you're planning on spending a lot of time in each individual park.

Glacier and Yellowstone are pretty awesome. I've never been to Bryce. Reply to this

How to start is easy...The hardest part is taking the time to do it...Get a 2-3 weeks on your agenda and a some money in the bank...Then the rest is easy...I would recommend car camping as the easiest and most economical way for you to see the national parks...If you want to lower your gas cost...Motorcycles and camping are great way to get around!?!?

Necesary equipment: Borrow or buy: a tent, sleeping bag, stove, and a good pair of trail runners.

Glacier and Yellowstone are outstanding...Recommended in the summertime especially since you are from Florida...
4 Corners Area - Arches, Grand Canyon, Bryce, Mesa Verde, etc. you can do really anytime of the year...A winter snow on the red rocks and sandstone makes for outstanding pictures. Spring and Fall would be best. Summer it gets hot. Real hot, but whitewater is nearby for outstanding rafting...
Don't forget Yosemite in the Sierras...John Muir made this place famous it is worth seeing...Spectacular glacier carved valley...

If you only have 2-3 weeks, you can break the above into 3 different trips which is what I recommend...The parks are huge and use your car to get there, but make sure you get off the road and away from the other tourists with your feet...This will let you see of the best of the parks that most people miss as they drive around and through in there cars...

Lastly, get in your car and start driving West...Beware...You might not want to come back home...

Have fun!!! Good luck!

you MUST go to glacier...and make sure you have your passport/birth certificate for the part that is in Canada. I did a roadtrip from Seattle across to Montana (glacier and yellowstone) and then down through Utah (mt. zion is gorgeous). I saw a few other parks, but those are the ones i highly recommend...especially GLACIER and zion. Reply to this

I too a train To Glacier Park. They have many tours there. I went on a boat tour... Loved it. I rented a car and drove to Yellowstone. If I remember correctly ittoo around 5 hours. Yellowstone is great like Glacier. I took two tours there. One bus tour during the day and a predawn tour. Both were outstanding. From there I drove to The Grand Tetons. I took a Float trip there but they have White Water Rafting for the more brave traveler. From Jackson Hole I flew home.

THis was by far the second best Vacation I ever took. (Alaska will never be beat) Reply to this

I have visited almost all of the US National Parks. If you only have a few weeks, why not see the parks of Utah? You can fly into Las Vegas (airfare can be quite cheap), rent a car and drive to Zion, Bryce (amazingly beautiful!), Cedar Breaks (rarely visited, but gorgeous), Escalante (great petrified forest), Kotochrome State Park, Hovenweep (Anzai Indian ruins), Capital Reef (my personal favorite) Canyonlands (worth spending the $ for an aerial overview) and Arches. This way, you will have time to stop and take some trails etc. 95%!o(MISSING)f visitors to National Parks never get more than a mile off the road. Don't be one of them. My spouse and I went in early May. The snow has melted and you beat the crowds and also the heat.

I spent a week in July touring Grand Tetons and Yellowstone National Parks. A week got you to see all the major stuff. If you enjoy hiking, you'll probably want to add a day or two. Check out my recent blogs for more info if you're interested. Glacier is a day's drive away but also very pretty and worth the trip if you have a few extra days to spend.

If you're interested in other National Parks, the parks in Utah are supposed to be spectacular. I'm going to see them later in September (Zion, Arches, Bryce, Grand Staircase). Grand Canyon National Park is world famous. Also, Yosemite is breath taking. Can't say enough about it and you can check out my blog on it if interested in seeing photos. The US National Park system is pretty incredible...just depends on how much time you want to spend. Reply to this

Yep, there are many National Parks in United States. There is Grand Teton, Glacier Park, Grand Canyon and many more. You could check also Capitol reefs, Carlsbad Cavern and Channel. There are paradise in heaven. They are very beautiful, I advise that you should check it. Reply to this
