How do you go about getting a letter of invitation to Belarus? I understand that you have to have the letter before you can get a visa. Reply to this

Hi everyone,

My girlfriend and I are arriving in Belarus on the 2nd of September. We are staying for 20 days. Does anyone know of accomodation that will be fairly priced for our stay? We have the option to saty with family when we are there but we are trying to explore other options if they are available and not inconvinience our family.

We are hoping to budget around $500 for the 20 days in Minsk. Any advice would be most appreciated.

Keep well.... Reply to this

Thanks biancadee. I did not discover exactly what i am looking for in that thread alothough it was a good read.

We have spoken to my girlfriends father in Belarus and he says he will organise a flat there us that will fit into our budget. He has warned us that tourists are charged alot of money for accomodation. I guess having a local resident to help you get a place to stay is an advantage.

I will provide a detailed report back to everyone who wants to read about our trip to Belarus. I will do my best to get names and numbers of places that will help fellow travellers travelling to Belarus.

Watch this space in October!

Thanks again biancadee ;-)

Hello Tshenkop, we have asked my girlfriends father to find a place for us to stay. All we need is a bed to sleep in and a safe place to store our belongings while we are traveling in Belarus.

I noticed that flatsmink website has places to stay and that $50 a day seems to be the going rate but surley it must be possible to get a cheaper place.

Maybe some one would like to let us use a room in their house or apartment for $25 a day.

What do you think?

:D
Alan, most people in Minsk live not in a apartment or house but in a small or medium flat...
But there will be one problem, if you will stay not in the hotel: according to Belarus legislation, you have to register in 3 days after you arrive to the country. if you stay in a hotel, it is not neсessary for you to go to register personally. But if you want to live in a flat, you have to visit OVIR office to register and this procedure is very hard and very bureaucratic, unfortunately.
I can try to find the cheapest hotel for you, if you want...

p.s. Find 73$ for double room per day.
p.p.s. Find 88$ for double...
p.p.p.s. 53$ for a double but it is **, and 73$ and 88$ is ***

UPD: find 1-room flat. 60$. The center of Minsk. Registration include, so you don't have to go to OVIR to register personally. I think it is the best variant.

I have been in Minsk 2 months ago. It is nice city, but it is very difficult to find chip accommodation. There are not hostels in Minsk. <snip>

As a matter of fact, there are hostels in Minsk and one of them is a centrally located Hostel of the International Relations Center. It has no website but its pictures and contact information can be found here (you cannot book it through this website!). Reply to this
