Do Blogs from Certain Countries get more Hits?

Out of all your postings do ones from certain countries get more hits?

I think having your blog on the front page makes a HUGE difference.

Since my last post on this thread I published a blog & (luckily) it spent nearly 4 full days on the front page, in that time it had 348 views.

It was a blog about a trip I took years ago to Kos in Greece, my opening sentence apologised for the blog as I can't remember much of the trip as it was so long ago but I wanted to publish it so that my friends could look at the pictures. I still haven't given my friends the link so none of the views are from people I know.

It is by far not my best blog & the pictures consist of my friends & I getting drunk & it hasn't got a rude title so I can only presume that it got the views as it was on the front page for so long? Reply to this

I read that blog partly because of the intriguing title, and partly trying to determine why a photo was 'censored'! Staying on the front page for a few days definitely does help though. Reply to this

since I asked the question long ago.. I havent been on here in a very long time!! I've since had another baby!! I went to check my stats and have noticed some very boring ones about what I get up to in my home town have had 1000's of hits!! Maybe if you do blog about things in the local area too people google it to find out info, see the travelblog (it must have high google rating) and skip on over! My one about the Ekka had 3000 hits. Wish I had written something better now!! I've since gone over to a regular blog since I havent travelled in years!!! Reply to this

It did cross my mind that the 'censored' photo might possibly have had something to do with it lol.

Thanks for the comment on my Pamplona blog Shane, I'm glad you enjoyed it & to have such a nice comment from such a well travelled person with such awesome blogs is even more of compliment. You should write a blog about your trip to Pamplona I'd love to read it, you're right it was an experience I'll never forget & easily the scariest thing I have ever done. Reply to this

Thanks for the kind comment Chris - it too was the scariest things I've ever done, and it is interesting to note that when Ernest Hemingway was discussing his book on Pamploma "The Sun Also Rises", he supposedly stated that running the bulls is the greatest test of a man's courage in times of peace (as opposed to wars).

I have often mused of writing some of my most memorable tales from prior to my Travelblog days - and there are two that stand out from my 1992 sojourn to the northern hemisphere - Running the Bulls In Pamploma and attending the ANZAC Day Dawn Service in Galliopli (the year of the last visit from a World War One veteran). The memories of both are still very strong, so once blogs from my current trip are finished, I might do so, but I need to figure a way to transfer my slides into an electronic form to get some images to go with the stories.
