Does anyone know if you can pass the border between Cambodia and Vietnam by the see, so that one visits the Phu Quoc Island?
Reply to this Hi, the locals on either side of the border are not too fond of each other so I would be doubtful there is any direct way from Cambodia to Phu Quoc, unless of course you can persuade a fishing boat to take you. We took a slow boat down the Mekong from outside PP to Chau Doc and then made our way by bus down to Ha Tien, from here you can get motos to take you to a local ferry (about 10ks away). You could also get the sea cat ferry from Rach Gia (buses run daily between Chau Doc and Rach Gia also). Phu Quoc is gorgeous and well worth the trip. Actually, I thought about going to Bokor by the way from Phnom Penh to Phu Quoc... Could You please give me times of your trip from Phnom Penh to Chau Doc and from Chau Doc to Ha Tien?

I live in Kien Giang ( Ha Tien and Phu Quoc island belong to Kien Giang province) so I can help you to travel around Ha Tien and may be Phu Quoc island if I have time. From PP to Chau Doc takes you about 10 hours by bus. ( I don't know if you take a boat). Then you take a bus to Ha Tien ( 2 hours). you can take around Ha Tien in 2 days. It is nice. After that you take a boat to Phu Quoc island ( 2 hours) You can rent a motorbike to take around the island. That is cheap. You can conaect me if you come to Viet Nam at
