Want to get from East Africa to India by boat.

Hello.

In a few months I want to get to India. I'm in Uganda now. I was hoping to find a cargo ship that will take me from Mombasa to India, maybe Mumbai. I'd be willing to work on the ship. If this isn't possible, I was thinking about flying to Dubai and then taking a dhow to India (either hitching a ride or working). Can anyone give me any insight into my possible wishful thinking? Would it be cheaper just to fly? Any help would be great!

Hi Matt, I am trying a similar trip but from Istanbul to India, probably via Dubai, did your trip work? Did you get a dhow?

Its risky but it can be done.go to Zanzibar there u can find dhows to middle east and thereafter to India.
Most Ship lines dont take non crew aboard due to piracy from Mombasa to somalia Reply to this

Uganda Visa Fees by Habari
With effect from July 22nd 2016, tourists seeking to come to Uganda will pay half of the money they have been paying for single entry tourist visas.
