When treking the likes of Tiger Leaping Gorge and Mt. Taishan

I'm planning on trekking Tiger Leaping Gorge and Mt. Taishan in China, but I really dont want to be carrying my massive back pack around with me, does anyone know how to solve this problem, is there somewhere reliable where I would be able to store my bag and pick it up at a later time?
Any help would be glady appreciated,
Thanks,

We just came back from Western China and Tibet, and did a day hike through Tiger Leaping Gorge.

We stayed overnight in the Gorge, and had our guides take our bags to the guesthouse before the hike, and they were there when we arrived.

The name of the guesthouse we stayed in is called Tina's Guest House - it's got incredible views of the gorge, a nice back porch with tables and rocking chairs, and excellent food. The people who run the place (Tibetans) and very friendly too.

It sounds like you're arranging the rest of the trip yourself, but my wife from Chinabackroads may be able to help you make arrangements for your bag, you can contact her at:

In Tiger Leaping Gorge you can leave your backpack at Margo's Gorged Tiger Cafe. It's at the western end of the gorge in the town there, right at the entrance where the bus drops you off. Margo charge 5 kuai to keep your bag as long as you need. You can then hike the gorge at your leisure and get back to Margo's by either minivan or on foot.

As for Taishan, I haven't been there yet but I imagine you can do a similar thing. Reply to this
