i am 18 and am planning on travelling to south east asia next december on a shoestring budget. I would say i am a good traveller, i have been off the beatin path several times in mexico, so i would say i am a bit hardend, i was just wondering if indonesia would be a good place for me to start my travels. is it somewhat easy to navigated? is it cheap? easy to find good accomadations? any feedback would be greatly appreciated 😊

I'm aditya...live in Jakarta, Indonesia is safe for all age traveller, and for the budgeting one the living cost is not expensive than malaysia and singapore.
For instance for 3 cents you can get 1 cold can of coke and for I USD you can get 1 beefburger of macdonnald and mineral water.
The accomodation for 3 star hotel is USD 20 to 30 USD net that including breakfast.
I f you like it you can stay in my home when you are in Jakarta and Bandung.
And if you like it too I will intoduce you to some of my friends so you can press your budget.

I love Indonesia, studied the culture and politics at university, speak Indonesian, cant' get enough of it. I was first there when I was 18 and would say that it's the best place Ive been to. In general, people are the friendliest you'll ever come across (though there's a few islands where people are just normal!) any attempt to utter any words of Indonesian will get you extremely far with everyone announcing how fluent you are even after just one word, and basically if you're nice to people, they will treat you like family.
