Actually, one of cool things I discovered recently was emegence of services which allow tourists to hire drivers. Usually it was problematic for me to choose between buses, subway and taxi, so such companies take "the best" of all in terms of time, comfort and budget (however, it still depends on goals of your trip). I used one of such services in Cyprus <snip> but I believe it is not so complicated to find similar in other destinations

I have found that travel has changed over the years. It was much more expensive in the past, and there were not as many options for tourists. Nowadays, there are a variety of cheap airlines, and thanks to online booking platforms, you can find accommodations anywhere in the world.
Additionally, hotels are becoming more luxurious and affordable at the same time. It means that an option is probably available whether you're on a budget or want to splurge.
However, there are also some frustrations that travelers experience these days. One of the biggest problems seems to be airport security delays – this causes many people to miss their flights or spend extra money on alternative arrangements like hotel accommodations or rental cars.
Pleasant surprises have popped up during my travel, places where it turned onto unique such as the <snip> perfect resort with luxurious facilities. I had a great day to spend.

My experience is very different. I do see younger travelers taking lots of photos and using selfie sticks but most travelers are still getting a real authentic experience. I'm a member of travel groups who ha e been to 100 + countries and they are going to some amazing off the beaten track locations. The world is an amazing place. Reply to this

I agree. I have to go way off the beaten track to get a unique travel experience. Even the lesser-known locations have now become tourist hotspots. I love to get an authentic local experience, free of tourists with selfie sticks! D MJ Binkley is right though, the world is an amazing place. There's still a lifetime of unforgettable experiences to be had! Reply to this

I've found one method of getting away from the selfie sticks: find somewhere that is inconvenient to reach. In my case, that means a hike of at least a half hour. During New England foliage season, all the viewpoints close to roads are overrun, but hike a half hour uphill and it almost feels normal. I love it. Reply to this
