We're looking to head overland from Kathmandu to Lhasa, and would like to travel via Everest base Camp if possible and are looking for some travel buddies. To book to go via EBC we require a minimum of 4 people to go on our own "Group Tour" because of the crazy permit regulations. If we can arrange four people to go then we negotiate a better rate with a travel agent and get them to tailor a tour to our needs - and it works out cheaper too!
Most of the group tours just run from Kathmandu to Lhasa (without EBC) and take about 7-8 days, for around $US400 per person. We've spoken to an agent and can arrange a trip that includes Everest Base Camp for about $US450 pp but we need a minimum of four people to get it at that price.
We're currently in Kathmandu trying to suss it all out and find some travel partners before we book. So if anyone is interested in joining up with us for a departure in the next week or so then please send us an e-mail through the site, or reply to the forum.

We are currently not in nepal yet so we wont be able to join your tour. However, We are looking into doing the same thing. Do u know where I can find the visa info online? it sounds very complicated. I hope you have found the rest of your group.
