Irish fishing
5 years ago, April 24th 2018 No: 1 Msg: #204606
I’m a newborn traveler. I have visited 6 countries already, but hobby of my lifetime is fishing. Now I’m planning to visit another country – Ireland, and I would like to combine this trip with fishing. What laws are there in Ireland for catching fish in lakes? Can I fish with nets? Is it possible to buy a permit for fishing with nets in lakes? Reply to this

Brilliant topic. My brother was there last year and he told that fishing with nets is constantly under the law in Ireland. In lakes and rivers it is possible only with fishing rod, bait and a fishing line. By the way, he took my fishing line <snip> and the good thing is you don’t need to buy a tackle, as a license, in stores on that area. And if you’ll have more than two fishing rods – you’ll have problems. For fishing in lakes, licenses are often not required. But there are an exceptions - in lakes where trout or salmon are bred, you can fish only with a license.
