Trying to get around

I am trying to do a day trip to the equator and a town call thika ,
any ideas on how to get to these places ?
i dont want to rent a car as i am not sure about driving on the wrong side of the road.
I am canadian.
any one know of a driver i could hire for the day ? Reply to this

yeah, driving on the wrong side of the road can be pretty scarey!!! 😊 you know there are plenty of small buses called "matatus" leave Nairobi very often for Thika. They leave from a place called River road. It should be about 200 kenyan shillings to get to Thika (1 us $ = 70 shillings). That would be lot cheaper than taking a taxi. I don't know if there is a place called Equator in Kenya, but I have seen lots of tourists standing around a bucket of water and looking at the ripples or something 😊 somewhere on the road from Nyeri to Nyaharuru.

If you want a taxi, you can get one from Nairobi train station and you would have to negotiate the price. The guys there are quite reasonable. good luck. Reply to this
