Sadly TravelPod is closing down, fortunately there is a way to import your entries here.
If you are a former TravelPod user, welcome!
For many years we competed with the TravelPod site, each time introducing new features and improved designs almost step in step with TravelPod, I think the result of healthy competition was better sites on both sides. It was a very sad day when I learned that TripAdvisor had decided to close the site down. I hope we can provide as good a home as TravelPod did for your photos and stories.
Firstly - act now - backup your TravelPod account -- do it as many ways as possible. Take the export that TP offers, and also join the TravelArk.org (as recommended on TP's pages).
To import your blogs into TravelBlog.org - there is a two step process and a little time to wait.
Step 1: create an account on
TravelArk.org, and indicate your interest in TravelBlog.org
Step 2: enter your TravelPod username in the
TravelPod Import Tool - click or find it under Control Panel -> Utilities -> TravelPod Import
There are many differences between TravelPod and TravelBlog - here are a few of the most obvious
1) We don't natively support videos, please upload your videos to a youtube or vimeo account, embedding from there is easy.
2) We have
Trips, but they are not a requirement for organizing your entries. They just group entries based on start and end dates.
Do send me a Personal Message if you have a large amount of blog entries - I'll pay particular attention to make sure the import goes through as expected.
