Hello people, how are you!?
Well, I was thinking about going to Ethiopia, and as I dont know much of the country for now, I would like to know from where the flights to there leave, how many days you think that would be nice to see the highlights of the country and what places do you think that are a must see there..and any other useful info would help me a lot!
Thanks!
Reply to this Well, the best time to visit in Ethiopia is on the the Ethiopian New Year on September 11 or during the Christian festival marking. As for the Ethiopian food, you might want to check out the injera dish, a bread made from wheat or sorghum and wat.
Reply to this Inch Speciz, Sarkis?! Ethiopa has more than one environment and climate zone to it. While there were people starving from drought in the interior, the coast remains fairly green. Do you have plans of traveling on from there? Do you have time but no plans, or ? And have you gotten vaccinations for the sub-Saharan? Give us a little better idea of your circumstances so we can make intelligent suggestions. 😊
Reply to this they are having their millenium this year.. so i'd think this year's sep 11 would be a hell of a celebration..
if you have 1-2 weeks.. you'd probably just do the historical route.. bahir dar, gonder, lalibela.. not sure if axxum is worth it... but if you're flying, then maybe just go for it.. you can also go to harar from addis.. if you have more time.. go to the national parks in the south.. spend some time with the natives.. which is something i didn't have time for and will do it next time i'm in ethiopia..
Reply to this Thanks for the tips people!
But do you think that 1 full month there and in Eritrea would be enough to most of it, or do you think that it woould be too much!?
