We, Bob & Brenda, both 60, just! are flying into Calgary (from Spain) in September and, after 2 days in Calgary, we pick up our 28-30ft RV. We then have 23 days to to get to Vancouver. We've done a rough itinerary, this is the 5th rough one as, as soon as we think we have it cracked, someone says...." but you can't miss.....!"
So perhaps someone wouldn't mind having a look at it and any suggestions would be very welcome! We have hires RV's before in the states so we're not complete novices.
Calgary - 2 nights, things to do?
Calgary - Kimberley route 22 via crows nest pass - stay 2 nights
Kimberley - Kootenay - stay 1 night
Kootenay - Banff visit Yoho np Lake Minniwanka - stay 2 nights
Banff - Lake Louise via Bow Valley parkway, visit Moraine Lake, Crow foot Glacier,Peyto Lake , Athabasca Glacier - stay 3 nights
Lake Louise - Jasper along the ice field parkway - Glacier walk, Magline Lake - stay 2 nights
Jasper - Mount Robson NP - stay 1 night
Mount Robson - Clearwater/ Wells Grey NP - stay 2 nights
Wells Grey NP - Lilliooet - stay 1 night
Lilliooet - Squamish , via route 99 visiting Whistler on the way - stay 1 night
Squamish - Vancouver Island - staying with chums in Qualicum 2 or 3 nights (RV in back yard!)
would also like to do some whale watching, and have set aside another 2 days, but as it will be end Sept beginning Oct, suggestions where would be good.
Then back to Vancouver where we drop off the RV and spend 3 days in Vancouver.
I think that leaves us 1 day floating to fill in as and where.
Does this sound doable?, have we missed something amazing? could we afford to miss something out in order to fit in the REALLY amazing thing we've missed!
Any help would be great.
