Hi all,

So myself and my boyfriend are currently in Norway (not Norwegian... from N.Z and Aus) and are flying to Iceland then want to head to Spain for a couple of months then travel Europe on our way back up to Norway to do more travelling around, so we are thinking having a car is going to be really handy, and best way for us to get around, especially when we get back to Norway...

So far we have come up with the idea of buying a car in the uk then driving to Spain from there, and from there travelling back up and ending up in Norway.

but we need some ideas of how and if thats possible...re buying process, insurance and travelling with it through many countries and then ending up in Norway with it...

Thanks in advance for any help on this matter 😊 Reply to this

Hi, it is probably not a great idea to buy a car in the UK and try to sell it in Norway, as UK drives on the left and the rest of Europe on the right. You also need to find out if you have to import it to Norway to sell it there, which will mean some paperwork and maybe money to be paid. It is also a problem with having the steering wheel on the "wrong" side as you have less view of oncoming traffic. But as people drive UK cars in Europe it is probably less of a problem. I don't think there will be any other hitches, as long as you have the green insurance card and an international drivers license if yours is not valid in Europe. Reply to this
