Hi there, im currently in my third and final year studying graphic design and as i love travelling, ive done a whole project dedicated to it. I would love to reach out to the target audience which is all of you guys!
Just to summarize what im trying to achieve, i have discovered through my primary research that was undertaken for a target audience of the ages between 16-35, that travel isn't a priority for the majority. It started off by looking at mental health and instead of focusing on the bad parts of it, i decided on looking at the positives, and how to make yourself feel happy, and through travelling, it has been proven to broaden your horizons, find yourself and just live life to the fullest. So my aim of the project is to reach out (not specifically to anyone suffering with mental illnesses) but to the younger generation and make travel more appealling through means of 21st century design. I have decided to do advertising posters which represent each country, each city and each continent. I have also created a number of guide books and survival guides. But the main part of my project is (as i am appealing to the younger target audience who love technology, obviously) to create some form of application for your device, which can be used offline as not to spend money on having the internet when abroad, where you can blog your whole travel experience and look at others and create a whole network of travellers all wanting the same thing; to have fun in life. I want to know your thoughts, i would post some pictures of my work but i am new here, i don't know if thats even possible! (: thank you for reading, sophie!
Reply to this hi, when I think of friends that don't "travel" like I do, they generally have a different defi ition. like they want to stay in their own country as it feels more comfortable, or camping 1 hr from home. so just remember that telling someone to travel, if you just want them to be happy, could be just to get away from their normal life and housing. not necessarily to another country 😊.
although, amazing photos from other countries would do it for me!
good luck

Reply to this Thank you tam! i wish i could post a example of my work to show you, i understand your point and its very valid! i just want to make travel more appealing to those who think its not important anymore, (as i think its been lost to the younger generation, not to everyone of course!) how would an app work for you? would you like some form of app which you could upload your travel experience, if you have one already, do you like it? what would benefit you when travelling and make it even more exciting than it already is?!
thank you
sophie
Reply to this I'm not really keen on using too much technology while I'm away as I'm trying to be in the moment so to speak. there might be investigation once there in to caves , activities, events etc but I normally blog once home. apart from teasing family and friends via fb that wld be it... minimal emails etc.
Reply to this i have a smart phone and an ipad that I use while traveling. I sometimes use my ipad to blog and my phone to upload photos. I cant type one thousand words on a five inch mobile phone. its hard enough on my ipad. I do not take photos from my ipad so I use my phone to upload photos. plus my android phone can read my cameras memory card though a card reader and USB OTG
Reply to this I Always carry my android phone time to travel and search new think for good and natural images . i all images upload by my phone.
