I want to go on vacation this summer with a friend who has a muscle desease and I'm searching for the perfect destination.
Hi everyone,
I'm looking for a destination to travel to this years July for a period of about 14 days.
I want it to be hot, beautiful and affordable, I'm from Belgium so I would like a destination in Europe. I'm travelling with a friend who has a muscle desease, so we need to stay at one place (preferably a home) near the sea, stores, potentially a club(s) so we can relax, but also in the neighbourhoud there should be interesting and beautiful things to visit (not too far with public transport) so we can visit something one day and then we have a few days for my friend to get her energy back.
Thanks a lot for any response!
Reply to this Hi Sofie,
We lived in Overijse, Belgium from 1984 to 1995, so it's great to hear from a fellow Belgian. Your criteria would lead me to suggest a Mediterranean country, all of which we have really enjoyed, especially Antibes, France. Most of Europe is hot in July, with beautiful also easy to find, but affordable is relative...most options would have to be in Eastern Europe or Turkey. We enjoyed the beaches in Turkey, and the nearby Roman and Greek ruins. We have Slovenia and Croatia high on our list of destinations...probably 2015...as we missed visiting the Balkans when we lived in Europe
But given that the entire northern European population heads to Southern and Eastern Europe and Turkey in July, and a 14 day trip gives you lots of options further afield than Europe, I would suggest you consider South East Asia as the flights are cheap and once there the food and lodging is inexpensive...with hot and beautiful high on people's list of reasons to go there. I would suggest the islands in southern Thailand. Your friend could enjoy a beach vacation.
When making your decision, I suggest that you look at TB blogs by those who have been to these locations...just click on the continents listed at the heading bar, and then the country, region and locations. There is much to inspire you there.
Let me know if you need any further detailed information.
Reply to this If you like blue and prestige beach, that you can enjoy a nice stroll and is close to stores, resto and bars you guys should check out nice in France. Although it's a little bit pricey, they have a convenient metro that can take you guys around Monaco and even Canes.
Reply to this Hi
Like Home and Away I would recommend Turkey (slightly biased as I live here!) in the area we live in we have the sea, a castle and other points of interest, all within easy access of the hotels. Food and drink is fairly cheap and the people are friendly and helpful.
Reply to this Hi!
I would recommend either going to Italy or Greece, both very beautiful countries. The Italian Riviera is a beautiful place to visit, friendly people, warm and nice weather and beautiful scenery. If you want a little more clubs and shops, then Rome is also a great city and lots to do and see around there like the Colosseum and Vatican City.
Greece is also very beautiful and the weather equally nice, like in most countries in Europe during July. You can go see the ruins in Athens or enjoy a day at the beach, the nightlife is also very good.
hope this helps

Reply to this If you want to interest with Asian country, then I can suggests you to Visit India. It is awesome country. You can feel and Understand how much work they do to live in a single day. You can feel every poor. If you visit this country then I think you can understand that you are so much Lucky to borne in your Country.
Reply to this Since you're going to be dealing with crowds no matter where you go in Europe in August, you might as well head to a city that knows how to handle them. Iconic tourist spots such as the Eiffel Tower and The Louvre will have long lines at almost any time of year, but other areas of Paris are enticing, as well, especially in August. European travel expert and guidebook author Rick Steves refers to this as one of the "odd glitches" of peak-season European travel, saying that "Paris is relatively empty in July and August but packed full in June and September.
