I'm in Yaoundé for another 2 months for an internship and I need ideas of things to do while I'm here.
I'm a Canadian student who's currently doing an internship in urban agriculture in Yaoundé, Cameroon. My host family is great and have helped me feel integrated. However, I have very few coworkers and a very little social circle (almost nonexistent).
I'd like some ideas of things to do while I'm here. I have some nights free and definitely have my weekends off. Anyone got some tips on places to see, things to do? Otherwise, I'm afraid this trip will turn into a book reading and movie watching marathon.
If you have a place to suggest that is further from Yaoundé, I'm open to the suggestion but even better if you can tell me how I could get there on my own.

I've never been to Cameroon but am keen to visit one day.
Not a lot of Travelbloggers have been to Cameroon, but you can read their blogs here:

You could try other sites such as Lonely Planet's Thorntree, which has more information, but even that is not brimming with information.
For destinations, I look at where tour companies visit and then research the places on my own. Some of these places are good, others are tourist traps. After a bit of research you will be able to decide which is which.
