Travel with estate car

Can I use Aires or campsites with my estate car in Europe?
10 years ago, December 31st 2013 No: 1 Msg: #178334
I have a plan to travel whole Europe for the next 2 years with my estate car instead of buying a campervan but be informed that estate is not allowed to stay overnight either Aires or campsites as it is not a self contained vehicle. I am not intending to sleep in my estate through the whole journey but would like to stay at the car as many as possible to save money. The maximum period for one continuous trip will be 3 to 4 weeks and will be back home in the UK and leave again etc etc..I think Skoda Octavia booth will give me decent space for this purpose. Aires are only available to motorhomes. Cars and caravans not allowed unfortunately You need a motorhome to use the aires Not sure about campsites but guess you would need a tent to sleep in.

Many campsites are ok for sleeping in the car although you might get funny looks from the other campers! Reply to this
