Looking for hotels in Las Vegas

Going to visit Las Vegas soon and need some hotels.

Hello everybody!

I will be visiting Las Vegas soon for the first time and I wanted to get some recommendations concerning hotels. I will stay there for a week, so it should be nice. Also, what do you know about those websites that claim to have cheap hotel rooms. Are they legit? <snip>

Thank you very much in advance!

Leon,
Welcome to Travelblog! Las Vegas has over 150,000 hotel rooms, ranging from some of the most luxurious hotels in the United States to absolute flea pits. Demand also varies so wildly that the cheapest room in a busy period will cost more that a very good room during a slow period. Holidays are the worst, followed by big conventions and sports events, then weekends in general. If at all possible, set your dates AFTER seeing room rates.

With so many hotel rooms, the best place depends entirely on your interests and budget. There are great rooms in most price brackets. During a slow period, your room budget will also go surprisingly far. Internet review sites are pretty good for finding a place to stay. If you are a serious gambler, casino perks will be important, so search review sites aimed specifically at gamblers.

As for booking the room, I found the best rates by calling the hotels directly. Look out for the 'resort fee' and similar extras, and make sure to find out how much these will add to the bill. A few true deal sites exist, but most will just connect people to the official booking site and then tack on a 'commission fee' for the effort. They are not worth the risk. The general travel booking sites (Expedia, etc.) can also find deals. Any discount from these sources will be greatly exceeded just by picking the right dates, however, so this is the best strategy by far. Reply to this

Ezra did a great job answering this question.

If you are looking for something inexpensive try hotels that are not located on the strip or check out Americas Best Value Inn.

Reminder: you will need to add in tax and other fees. You will need to ask for specifics. It is not unusually for this to add as much as 30%. Reply to this

Hiya, we used to find that you could stay in the very nice hotels on Monday through to Thursday pretty cheap! I've stayed at the mgm, luxor and Bellagio all on less than $100 a night deals for mid week. If you don't mind when youre there...probably worth investigating that.
Then at least youre right on the main road and its safe to walk up and down and no need for car rentals etc.

I have to travel a lot for my business, mostly in Europe, but often in the States.I used to use sites like Travelocity, but I quickly found the better way to find deals is to go to the second level-those sites <snip> who compare the hundreds of different booking sites in one single search. So you not only see trivago or expedia deals but ALL of them in one place.I must've save over 3,000 euros since I started using them.I agree, just using one of the top booking sites is not the best idea.I hope it helps😉

I love the Venetian but you can never go wrong at the Bellagio. Both great hotels but let me add this, the Bellagio has the best buffet I have ever eaten at. Reply to this
