Shipping Luggage Internationally

Looking for the best options to ship luggage

Here's the scoop: I'm heading to Beijing for a week in June for grad school where I'll be required to spend 14 hours each day in business attire, but after Beijing I'm jetsetting to Cambodia and backpacking it for some time there and in Thailand. I do NOT want to have my luggage with me during those travels, so I need to ship my luggage from Beijing to Phoenix... with no time constraints, etc, and simply the most affordable option. Any suggestions? Reply to this

If you have a return flight in/out of beijing then i'd possibly store your suitcase somewhere (with a friend?) and then bring it back on your way back. Otherwise check the main airline you are travelling to china with and see if they do luggage shipping. You might need to have a flight with them.

But...this might cost you hundreds of $'s so is your clothing worth that much? Perhaps its worth giving away at the end, or the opposite, take 1 nice suit and buy cheap local clothes when you get there

I'm torn on what to do; on the one hand I'm thinking of packing my trekking bag inside an old piece of luggage, and then giving the luggage away while packing all of my business wear in the bottom of the hiking bag, and dropping it off at the dry cleaner upon my return. I simply can't not have nice clothes with me as it's the required dress code while in Beijing.

Thanks for the suggestion! Reply to this
