Hi I am 24yo man about to enter Australia at Cairns in Februay.
I want to do bus tour to Sydney in a month. I read a lot about Oz Experience and Greyhound.
Which is better for the money as Oz Experience sees a lot more money with less buses but I think does more fun sad people right only a few people on bus soemtime one. I want to meet people and see a lot.
What is advice?
Reply to this I haven't caught the Oz Experience but have used the Greyhound.
The Greyhound is a 'normal' bus service. You'll find it runs more regularly but will only stop at towns & cities along the way like a regular bus service would.
The Oz Experience would probably be the best place to meet people and stop at sights, this is catered primarily to the backpackers but may cost a bit more.
Looking at the Oz Experience website you have two options.. guided and express. The express is just a Greyhound Bus so you will want to select the Express option.
You can pick & choose the day and distance you want to travel with both options.
Reply to this I just did coairns to sydney on oz i had fun on the buses but you go back on yourself for farm night and frasier island.
I mixed it between grehound and oz which worked out well.
Reply to this I think both Greyhound and Oz is great.

Reply to this Do Greyhound or Premier.
AVOID OZ EXPERIENCE AT ALL COSTS
Oz Experience is so much more expensive than the others and I spent more time on Greyhound than the oz bus luckily the cost is included to do both. I payed $220 extra to spend 1 1/2 days on the oz bus and had to do greyhound because the oz bus only runs 3 times a week.
If you want to meet others forget oz first day out of cairnes we had 7 people and from magnetic island to aislie beach I was the only one with a boring driver who spent most of the drive on his phone.
Greyhound are far superiour both with service and driver professionalism. I did two overnight greyhounds which saves on hostel costs.
Greyhound drivers are always helpful and on time where as oz bus drivers rush to get to the night spot for many many beers and girls.
Oz bus is sold as a tour on the first day but we only made two stops on the table mountain.
$220 is better spent on other activities on your trip IMHO
