Blog writing advice?

Newbie needing advice on 'how to write for web'...

I'd appreciate any help or constructive criticism on my blogging; thinking of trying to turn it into a hobby/new career!

Thanks, Matt

Hello Matt and welcome to Travelblog!

Where to start with this question - firstly, have a read of the following two forum threads:

Writing for the Web - blog style tips.

Tips for Increasing the Views of Your Travel Blog

Second, I think your focus on trying to make money out of travel writing is not to make money out of travel writing - sounds contradictory I know. I attended a International Travelblogger Conference in May and the overwhelming message was to write and blog because you enjoy it first, and you might be fortunate to earn a living out of it.

Finally (for now) your writing style will change dramatically the more you write, and you will probably be a little embarrassed by your earlier efforts later on. Thus, write often, but you don't necessarily have to publish everything you write, just get into the habit of doing so. The same applies to photography.
