Reply to this I usually fly as it is only a one hour flight - Air Asia has some great prices, and for only a one hour, the smaller amount of leg room is acceptable. Other options include Silk Air, it will cost more, but not sure if it worth the extra for such a short flight.
I've planned many times to take the luxury train, but it has always fallen through. The deluxe sleeper cabins on the overnight train (number 24 to KL and 25 from KL) has two bedded cabins with own bathroom. However, this is likely to be more expensive than the Air Asia option.
The other option is maybe to fly one way (to KL) and take a day train on the return to see the scenery - go for a first class seat. The train fares from KL are cheaper than those from Singapore as they price for the local market.
