Congratulations everyone - welcome to the TravelBlog Hall of Fame - on our 10th anniversary year!

This year we recognize 32 amazing bloggers, each of differing style, all representing high quality and long term commitment.

To anyone who is new to travelblog - read their blogs - this is what Travel Blog is all about! Real people traveling, sharing the experience, often discovering a passion for writing and photography on the way.

If you're reading this and are wondering why a particular blog is not included - we have around 300,000 accounts now and we are bound to have missed some amazing stories. Please let us know about them in March next year, nominate them for blogger of the week and in the meantime recommend them.

Ali - writing from Kuala Lumpur Malaysia - 3rd April 2012

Congratulations to the following bloggers who have been inducted into the TravelBlog Hall Of Fame. We'll be adding the awards to profile pages over the next few days, and also adding them to The TravelBlog Hall of Fame.

I too am honoured to be part of this exclusive crowd. Only 150 people out of 300,000! That is amazing.

I'm sure there are plenty more who deserve to be in the Hall of Fame but have not been noticed yet. I was a blogger on this forum from 2006 but only popped up on the radar in 2011! So took me five years to get noticed!

Thanks again though. I better get packing. Off to East Africa tomorrow!

Oh my, what a nice surprise 😊 It is great to be on a list with so many wonderful and inspirational travelers, writers and photographers. Thanks to all behind the scenes for making this wonderful travel site a reality!
And Jason, maybe see you here in Africa somewhere 😊

Woke up to a nice e-mail this morning saying I've been included in the Hall of Fame. Although I've been absent from the site for awhile it's been in the back of my head for awhile. Shortly after my last blog entry in 2011, I decided to take up an offer to move to and work in Germany, the next step in familiarising myself in a countries culture. My time has been consumed by the move and coincidently my next adventure is on a 09:40 flight tomorrow morning to Munich.

Thanks to those who have nominated me. Telling people today in work you'd swear I'd won the lotto. Hopefully I'll be a bit more active now that Europe is on my doorstep. (für jetzt!) auf Wiedersehn.

I've also been receiving numerous private messages in response to the Hall of Fame notifications I sent on Saturday - it is satisfying to be the bearer of such happy news 😊

As mentioned by Ali, please do make an effort to read these bloggers. I was unaware of some until needing to send them the congratulatory messages, so I paused to read and admire their blogs. We have some extremely talented writers, photographers and travellers on this site, and for that we should be extremely thankful. Reply to this

Thank you so much, it is rather exciting and very flattering to be in such illustrious company. Although I'm not sure who is more proud and excited, me or my Mum!! What a fantastic incentive to keep doing what I love: travelling, blogging, and reading other great accounts about places around the world.

p.s. thanks for being the bearer of good news Shane 😊 Reply to this

I also got Shane's private message with the notification and responded there, but I did want to thank all the Moderators publicly for this honor to be among the select few inducted into the Hall of Fame. I'm also pleased that the general response from each of us is appreciation for Travelblog as the friendliest forum to share our passion for travel...and to get us thinking about and planning our next trip.

Following Ali's suggestion I have already started reading and then following some of those on the list. All are great blogs; so I continue to read.

Next year's cohort will rival this year's as for ability to write and take pictures, and a commitment to friendship via the various Forums. I have already written my list of who to nominate (or second) and can hardly wait for next March to roll around. Reply to this

Thanks to all those who took the time to read our blogs and appreciate our work (and of course for the votes!). One of the best decisions we've made since starting our journey was joining this site and over the past few years, TravelBlog has allowed us to 'meet' great people...we hope our paths cross with many of you during future trips!

Thanks again! Reply to this

Congratulations to you all, guys!!

It's really excited to be nominated by other members, I think it makes you feel appreciated... when we got into the HoF a couple of years ago I was so happy that I was telling everyone I knew... many didn't know what I was talking about because, even though they are on my email notification list and they receive an email whenever I publish a blog, most of them don't even read them, so I was really, really happy that other bloggers and travelers liked what I was writing

I've been following some of you already and I'll definitely make sure that I start reading the ones I haven't yet!

Thank you! It's wonderful to know that my blogs are being read by other bloggers and travelers. I love reading blogs from other travelers - and it's wonderful to know that other people are enjoying mine as well.....
Currently I'm copying emails onto TravelBlog that I sent to family whilst on our first trip in retirement - 17 months away from Australia starting in 2001 - what an adventure that was for us! And thankfully not our last.
Already planning our next (Myanmar and China for a few months later in the year) - not that we are great planners - we usually tend just to buy a return ticket and fill in the bits in the middle on the spur of the moment day by day.
But we've just welcomed our first grandchild into the world and it will be hard to leave him I fear....
Thank you again and congratulations to fellow Hall of Fame inductees. Reply to this
