Hi!
I’m not sure that I understand the Recommendation process on TravelBlog. Why don’t I have the option to recommend anybody? Admittedly, I have just been reading (I don’t leave for another few months) – might this have something to do with it? - but there are a lot of good blogs out there that I think deserve more recognition.
Would I be better off nominating them as blogger of the week?
Sorry! I’m sure this has already been answered somewhere on here...
Reply to this Hello James 😊
The reason you cant recommend bloggers is because you dont yet have BLOGGER status. Since you seem to be a keen fan of bloggers and blogs, it is a pity you cant recommend them. I will change your status to BLOGGER now and keep and watch your activity for a while. Basically, new members have limited rights, because we want to reduce the risk of SPAM by them.
Would I be better off nominating them as blogger of the week?
You could do that too, if they have fewer than 5 recommends. Everybody loves to be nominated for an award.

Reply to this Thanks, Mel. I won’t go nuts and abuse the privilege; I’ll just recommend those bloggers who I really like.

Reply to this Oh, go nuts with the recommending if you want. Nobody will complain about that. Everybody loves the recognition of getting a recommend. 😊 As well as that, if you start blogging, some of those you recommended in the past might check out your blogs and recommend you in return.
If somebody gets 5 recommends, their blogs are featured on the Front Page. There was one blogger who joined TravelBlog a couple of years ago to plan her trip and ask questions. She got so popular that she already had enough recommends for her blogs to feature on the Front Page, after she only had posted the first few of her trip.
Here is a link to her Profile Page.

So, dont feel shy about making your presence felt. It really is only spammers we dont want. Travellers are always welcome here. 😊
