Hi All,,,

Iam thinking of traveling to Sri Lanka .. Guess i will be there for 2 weeks, and would like to see most of the tourist attraction around the country. I need an advice, What is the best way to travel around the country? Should I travel by my self? For example, use public transportation Like buses, Tuk Tuk's and Taxi sometimes. OR ..

Rent a car with a driver and go around the country? If you think this is the best way, then how much will it cost me per day?

Waiting for your replies. And
Thanks in Advance 😊 Reply to this

For me the answer is pretty easy, it's a mix of train and tuk tuk. We did it few weeks ago and it was amazing. Reply to this

Medical Insurance for traveling in Sri lanka:

You can’t assume your insurance will go with you when you travel. It’s very important to find out before you leave whether or not your medical insurance will cover you overseas. You need to ask your insurance company two questions:
• Does my policy apply when I’m out of the United States?
• Will it cover emergencies like a trip to a foreign hospital or a medical evacuation?
In many places, doctors and hospitals still expect payment in cash at the time of service. Your regular U.S. health insurance may not cover doctors’ and hospital visits in other countries. If your policy doesn’t go with you when you travel, it’s a very good idea to take out another policy for your trip.

My advice as a Sri Lankan.
Rent a car is a good option to to see most of the tourist attraction around the country.. will cost around 75 USD per day.Make a train trip to Badulla from Colombo. if you are on tight budget use intercity buses and trains for long distance and tak tuk for go around. Reply to this

We did consider the car, but at the end, it was way more expensive and transport is readily available all around. Reply to this

I think problem is with the luggage and also how to explore tourist attractions in public transport.Otherwise public transport is also fairly OK.
