TravelBlog.org has been the one of the leading travel communities for the last ten years, we host hundreds of thousands of blog entries, millions of photos and a fantastically diverse, friendly and enthusiastic membership. We are community of tourists, travellers, explorers and adventurers who come together to share our passion for travel.
Outside of our community, our recognition is below what one would expect with such a popular site - we want to change that! The increased publicity will bring more attention to Travelblog, and to you our members, meaning more readers and visitors.

Travel Blogs/Community - and we're nominated!
We're up against some tough compeititon - tripadivsor.com (which has won this award twice previously), is nominated again. Please vote and let's claim this category for Travelblog on behalf of all of its members!
How to Vote:
1) Go To
World Travel Awards - Travel Blogs/Community category.
2) Look for "Vote Now" - midway down the page
3) You'll need to register at this point - click register and fill in the form - make sure you uncheck the mailing options.
4) Two options for voting appear now - navigate to Travel Community and select travelblog.org
The deadline for the Travel Technology category is 10th November 2011 - so please vote, and spread the word!

I signed up in 2005 - since then it has kept all the things that made it great (attractive layout, friendly and diverse members), but added dozens of excellent features. It's just the complete travel experience.
Even though I'm not as active here as I used to be, TravelBlog is still one of my very favourite sites. Some of the bloggers here have changed how I view the world - Cumberland Sausage, Bedreddin, Postcard Junky - and have taught me a lot. I'm very grateful to TravelBlog for that.

Reply to this We took a few minutes out of our exploring around the souks of Marrakesh to cast our vote for Travel Blog.

I voted on 25 October (2 days before this thread appeared) and also forgot to uncheck the email box. Since then I have received one email from World Travel Awards (re Best Theme Resort in North America) and four from Breaking Travel News which provides news on the travel industry. Both types of email have an "unsubscribe" or "remove" option.
