Next month, I'm going to spend a week in Singapore/Malaysia. The trip begins in Singapore and ends in Kuala Lumpur, but I'm unsure what I should do for the middle 2-3 days. The options I've been considering are either Cameron Highlands or Penang/Georgetown. What do you guys think? What are the pros and cons of each place? Also, would mid-September rains considerably hamper a stay in the Cameron Highlands?

Reply to this i've been to penang and it was fantastic! take a bus up to the spice farm or to the other side of the island and enjoy a real view of beach living in malaysia.
oh, and the food is amazing! the hawker stalls in georgetown are delicious!
i've heard some wonderful things about cameron highlands and really wish that i had been able to go. next time for sure!
Reply to this Cameron Highlands are great, really beautiful, but apart from some walking and maybe visiting the tea plantations, not a huge amount to do. Georgetown is pretty cool. Agree with the above post - great food!!! Plus a great vibe there. But, a little out of the way unless you pan to fly. Malacca is another option to consider. It's kinda in-between Singapore and KL (easy to get to by bus). Also good food/vibe and enough to keep you occupied for a couple of days.
