Hello Guys,

as sayd in my "Need Help on Visa" thread i got another Question, quick detail is im 26 and want to go over to South East Asia for a Year to Travel and maybe find work in Singapore.

I want to stay nearly half a year in Thailand and the rest of the Time i want to Travel to Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos and MAYBE Myanmar and Malaysia. Not sure about that yet.

I will only Travel by Train or Bus, no Flights planned so far. So my Question is what do you think how much Money i need for a Year stay?

Im really down to earth so i will sleep in cheep places, dont spend much money on food (want to diet anyways 😉 ), do cheep rides and so on. So i will really have a look on it, sure i will do some tours, i want to climb deep water solo at vietnam or for sure visit Ankgor, just for a example, but except this, i just want to be down to earth Traveller.

I hope some of you experienced guys can give a rough estimation on how much money i will need.

PS: I will only buy a one way ticket to Bangkok when i arrive, so im flexible to where im flying back from.

I thank you so much and look forward to your answers,

best greetings,

Tough to answer mate. It depends on how much you drink, how much you plan to move around, how many tours you go on, the season, etc etc. But, I averaged about £20 (1000TB) a day last year. You can do it cheaper (fan rooms, local eats, not too much booze), but you can easily spend more if you like to party. I met a guy who got by on about £10 (500TB) a day, but he did everything on the super-super cheap. Reply to this
