As nurses, we understand the importance of holistic health practices in our lives and when traveling. We often get massages, meditate and soak in saunas or mineral pools while away. Cooking is very therapeutic for both of us so we have taken cooking classes in Thailand and Bali. We find music therapy and aroma therapy beneficial in creating a calming environment.
We have massages in every country we travel to. So far the best ones have been in Peru, Thailand and America.
What do you practice at home? Do you try to incorporate those health practices into your travel?
Please tell us about your experiences at home and one the road.
Reply to this I don't have much experience with this. I've had massages in Thailand (amazing, they leave me feeling like jello). and went in a steam room in Venice (which cured my hangover).
Just recently we went to the Blue Lagoon Spa in Iceland, which was amazing. We will 100% be going back there, definitely something everyone should try if they have the chance. (off season is largely cheaper than high season). always a nice stop over on your way to/from Europe/North America
Reply to this We look forward to the Blue Lagoon. I've looked at photos of it for years imaging myself enjoying the healing qualities of those waters. Whenever we are in Napa Valley, California (wine country) we enjoy the mineral pools in the area and we've been to some in Montana, Colorado and Wyoming but we think the Blue Lagoon will be the grandest of them all.
I'll have to look on your page and see if you blogged about it.
Reply to this we haven't yet, Scotts sorting through the pictures but life keeps getting in the way. :/ Hopefully it'll be up soon though, he just messed up his ankle and has plenty of time now!
Reply to this I hate that Scott hurt his ankle but it sounds like we will benefit from his injury.
