I tried to give it the benefit of the doubt.........but three bottles of Thailand's finest Siamsato later, the pink colour is still burning my eyes. Spending my time travelling around Asia in recent months, the only thing i've seen hippies with is horrid dull coloured baggy pants (no offence intended!)...............where do these lava lamps come in to play?

Pink certainly makes the site unique, and maybe that is the aim? If you were to walk into an internet cafe for example it would now be much easier to spot those using Travelblog.

I would ask the designer to just switch off the colour completely for now, but I dont want to risk having something else get broken if he changes something.
I think, Ali might be gone for a week? Does anyone know for sure? I didnt think there was any reason to ask him how long he will be away until now.
But, at least the problem seems to be only with the colour, and everything else if probably working. If it is not, I might phone Ali.
I think, there are supposed to be some kind of optional sound effects that go with the new TravelBlog look. Those dont seem to be working. I really think he just uploaded the wrong file.

I have a couple of them, even though I am not a hippy. They make a really relaxing, soothing motion, and put a nice glow on the room when the lights are turned down. I have one in yellow, and on in red with purple lava.

Hey Abul, dont go getting any ideas from this. 😉 It looks nice on the lava lamp, but it is probably not in the spirit of modern day TravelBlog.
Abdul is the new designer, living in Kuala Lumpur. He will probably introduce himself on the forums, when the next version of TravelBlog is launched, and this one is forgotten.

I think, that might have been what Ali thought too. He mentioned that colour becomes associated with a site so we need an original one.

Reply to this ha ha April Fool! I almost went on a rant because I cannot stand the colour pink...especially Pepto Bismol pink!! The lovely blue colour was what attracted me to TravelBlog website in the first place. If this is not a joke, please seriously reconsider. Ack!

Oi TravelBlog is older than FaceBook. It should be they who are going pink, not us. Ali should copyright the colour blue. But, lets not go there, because IBM have been around since the 50s, and they claim to be 'the big blue', and I bet they have lawyers to back that up.

It is astonishing to think Travelblog has been knocking around longer than facebook, particularly since their influence has so hegemonically seeped into this website down the years.

Not at all. As far as I am concerned, the customer is always right. If enough TravelBlogers want the pink, then the pink it likely will be.

I agree with associating the site with a color that is noticeable. I noticed a few travelblog users while traveling last year when I was in internet cafes, etc. I don't mind the pink, but do think it could be tweaked here and ther,e but that’s what the upcoming versions are for I suppose, and all great things take time!
