Use of full names

I note that most travel bloggers use their first and last names, but few use full names in the text of their blogs. Is there any protocol or etiquette regarding the use of full names.

I know that when you google a full name, if the two names are found on travel blog, even in separate places, the blog where they appear can be found. Reply to this

Hi Bob,

A general guide is not to use (full) names where they could make someone identifiable, without first getting their permission to do so. Reply to this

What makes you want to use full names? I see no advantage to putting them in your entries (even if given permission) while there are tons of potential disadvantages.

If you are really set on using full names for some reason (and I really see no real case for this), get WRITTEN permission. Otherwise, if the person in question reneges on the permission, it becomes a classic he said, she said case. Reply to this

Thanks for the advice. I will continue to refrain from using full names. Reply to this
