3 months of seasonal work...ugh.

I've only been in Australia for 2 months and I know that my one year working holiday visa won't be enough. Fortunately I can extend it for another year but only if I do 3 months of seasonal work....

I'm starting to look for places to do my 3 months of seasonal work. They've actually changed the definition to "specified work" recently including construction and mining type jobs aswell. I'm not really sure where to start my search. I'd like to find a place that is fun to be and work that I enjoy rather than draging myself through the whole 3 months just for the sake of the visa extension. I was hoping to find something near the great barrier reef, maybe the whitesunday islands. The thing is that I dunno if that area would fit into the region that they have designated for the "specified work." Also what sort of seasonal work pays well..? Reply to this

Hey,

I will be flying into Melbourne a week today and will be doing fruit picking 3 hours north of Melbourne. I checked out the postcode and it depends where it is and if it is classed as within the correct region to be eligible for a 2nd year visa.

here is the link which tells you what work is accepted and which areas!

Hope it helps,
