Travelling around china
13 years ago, December 10th 2010 No: 1 Msg: #124556
hello.
What's the Train or bus system in china like for getting around as we are travelling there next month for 3 weeks. Is it best to prebook or just turnup at stations for travel arangements?

Hi,
As it will be the low season, you don't need to prebook your tickets. Anyway, you can only buy your train ticket in china 10 days before your departure and usually only from the Departure city. Your hotel will be able to book your ticket for you as well, for a charge of course or you can queue yourself at the station. But that can be a bit challenging as few people speak english, even at the stations (except for Shanghai or Beijing). Trains are the best and cheapest option to travel in China but buses are fine too. You can't really prebook bus tickets though but no problem seat-wise. Reply to this
