Are there certain words (either in the main text or title) that prevent a blog from being featured on the front page?
I'm only asking as I'm just finishing up my India blog (finally... after nearly 3 years) and noticed I've written s*** in it a few times. I've censored them now (as above), is this acceptable?
Thanks,
Mike.
Reply to this Hi Mike, not as far as I know. If there were a case that breached the ToS, it would probably come to our attention pretty quickly.
There are some situations where words like that are legitimately used - it's something we look at on a case by case basis. Your example wouldn't be a problem.
Reply to this Hello Mike 😊
It would not prevent it getting on the Front Page, but we probably wouldnt like it, and if it was profane enough we would remove those words.
To remember when posting a blog for the Front Page: Make sure the blog fulfills the current number of words requirement and that the photos have been uploaded within 10 days prior to publishing. I think, the current number of words requirement is 400. If these requirements are not fulfilled, the blog won't go on the Front Page.
Also, be aware that Front Page requirements change from time to time.

Reply to this I've never had any freakin' problems with my liberal use of profanity! Yet!
Reply to this Thanks for the responses guys.... I've just published it..

Reply to this Nice blog guys. It's pretty hard to write about India without mentioning sh*t several times in each blog. Trying to come up with 20 inoffensive synonyms every entry is like trying to navigate Pahar Ganj without stepping in some bovine poo-patty; almost impossible. So, a little imaginative profanity is, I believe, not only acceptable, but necessary. Lets have more crap!
