In my 22 years of on off travel, I have never been to a travel show. Am I missing out on something?
I do remember using TNT magazine though, for all kinds of useful information including budget travel information, when I was living in London 22 years ago.

Reply to this STA travel do a travel talk once a year in their branches. I went last year and thought it was great! and I am going again this year. It is, of course, one big sales pitch but thats to be expected. I wish they or someone else did more things like that. I have soooo many questions I would love to fire at people about this kind of travel.
Here's an idea, Travelblog should do some sort of meet-up roadshow lol.
Reply to this Mell -- sounds like you were reading TNT back in very first days! TNT does indeed have the budget traveler in mind, and that's why we organise the travel shows. (and will do keeping the topic in one place... :-)
Tina, the Sun & Snow Travel Show is definitely all about information for travellers! Not only are there heaps of exhibitors -- and yes they are selling (crazy cheap) tours, tickets, and the like -- but there's also thousands of other travelers and seminars, so you can get all the info you need and just generally hangout and have a good time. You should check it out!
