When I first started traveling, I would send periodic emails to my friends and family to keep them posted on my trip. These emails were sans photos and were rambling narratives that covered multiple days worth of traveling at a time. Then came a monumental decision to live in Italy via a job offer. I decided that my practice of emailing was not practical as a means of maintaining contact with friends and family. Plus, few people got to see my photos
At the same time I wanted to maintain a journal that would be easily accessible to anyone that would be interested in reading it. I am a storyteller. Have been my entire life. I wanted a platform that would efficiently enable me to tell my stories to friends, relatives, and strangers. And what story is complete without photos? I looked for the best site that would be easy to use (I have about a 20 second fuse with technology) for myself and the reader.
I looked at other sites and found travelblog.org to be pleasing to the eye (aesthetics...you know!) and tremendously easy (I'm a techphobe) for me to navigate and utilize. Who could ask for anything more? Thank you travelblog.org!!!!
Reply to this Travelblog is the perfect solution for sharing travel adventures and photos with friends and family. The website is easy to use, includes great customer support and best of all it's free! I finished travelling 3 years ago, moved to a new country and still use travelblog to share my experiences online. Thank you Travelblog for a brilliant service!

Reply to this I learned about Travelblog in 2006 when some friends of our friends were traveling around the world with their two kids. I loved the web site and waited each week or two for them to post a new blog. At the time my husband and I were getting itchy feet and began to plan our own around the world trip- which we did in 2007. Writing our blogs has enhanced our journey and allowed our families to keep up with us and know that we are safe.
Travelblog is the best and user friendly.
Since our return from the around the world expedition we continue to write stories about our travels and send them to our friends because they continue to provide positive feedback.
We recommend travelblog to anyone who is planning to do some travel. They agree with us that it is a valuable travel resource. Much like a travel agent was in the old days in that you can learn where you hope to go and what not to miss!!
Reply to this My travelblog always comes up at the top of google searches, so I have been contacted by dozens of people asking for advice and more details about locations, cultures, etc. I love having a record of all my trips, complete with photos, maps, and comments. My friends and families love how they get emails alerting them of updates. It makes my life easier, and it's so simple to use!

Reply to this Travelblog not only keeps my friends informed of my adventures, but as a writer, it is a great medium to explore different literary devices for more polished, published work.

Reply to this I started using Travelblog as a way of seeing what other peoples travel experiences were like, as I was about to travel around the world and found so much useful information from people like myself what travelled to the same destinations. I then found it addictive reading other peoples travel stories and would find myself following these strangers as they took me on their journeys.
I have just started making my Travelblog of the five week trip that I took and hope that I can help any travellers that might be going to the same destinations with some tips and inspiration to get their own journey started. If they can't make it to those destinations, I hope that I can give them an inside look into what I thought of those places.

Reply to this Travelblog is great, it is easy to use (especially in those places where internet is reaaaaaalllyyy slow), and has so many great attributes to it. The best thing about it is that you can choose to use a function or not, so if you have plenty of time and a quick connection you can put in maps, or use the multiple photo uploader or some other great function, whereas if you have no time and a slow connection you can just choose to simply write a blog and put just a few photos on. The forum is great as well, and kudos to all those who make it all work and keep it running! Thanks!

Reply to this Travelblog is the place to read the escapades of the Vang Vieng tubing crowd.
Reply to this I use travelblog to keep in touch with my family back home whilst I am living and travelling abroad. It's easy for me to update everyone at the same time, and they enjoy reading about what I've been up to and looking at photos I've taken. It's a great personal record too!!

Reply to this I'm a Travelblog junkie. If I'm in between trips I love to read other peoples experiences and look at their photos. If I'm planning a trip I love to read up about the places I'm going to visit. And when I've been somewhere I like to post some information and pictures of my own. Travelblog is a fantastic website for travellers from all over the world to come together and share their knowlege and experiences.
I'm English and live in Switzerland and love to travel specially to Asia.
Reply to this A great way to let people know whatever you are doing abroad. I started my first blog, when I was doing an internship in Thailand, had absolutely no clue of web-editing and could by these means share pictures and experiences every day with just a few clicks. Now, the wonderful journey of life through the first years of our daughter has become our current project. Great to let the family in, if you are living abroad...

Reply to this We use travelblog for inspiration on future travel destinations, our first trip was inspired from pictures of Malaysia, nowadays we are on a trip around the world and using travelblog constantly to update blogs for friends and family, also, travelblog looks real " professional ' compared to some other travel websites I've been using.
At the very end of everything I'll blog to book it all!

Reply to this My partner and I used TravelBlog last year and thought it worked very well. I found it easier to send the photos and descriptions on the fly, using this blog site, than sending many, many emails as I had done the previous 7 years of travel. Also, it gives the recipients more leeway in that they don't need to open each one; they can catch up on all of the blogs when they have some time. Or they can unsubscribe if they wish.
After our travels were completed last year, I made a book, using Drop the World publishing which works with TravelBlog. The book was very easy to put together as the text was already written. It just required a little arranging of the photos. The book is beautiful! We're so proud of it and have shown it to so many people. When we up in years, we'll be sittiing on a porch somewhere in our rocking chairs leafing through that book -- and hopefully more.
Reply to this Travelblog is as much a story for my family & friends as it is a reminder for myself of the wonderful places I've been lucky enough to visit. I also hope that my blog inspires others to do the same and being available online, it may just do that. Thanks Travelblog for making this process so incredibly easy.

Reply to this Traveling can be as exciting as you want it to be---there is no better place to start your research than by using TRAVELBLOG.
Reply to this TravelBlog is on the way to become the FaceBook of travels and travelers.
I used it some years back to record and share my trips. It is easy to enjoy reading other people's stories, to get in touch with other travelers and to comment on the forum.
I recommend it to anyone suffering from itchy feet!
I am French. 😊
Reply to this I started using TravelBlog to prepare for a three-year journey through the Americas, gathering tips which have guided me to gorgeous locations I'd not considered. Now that I'm traveling, I just posted my first blogs and was thrilled to see my friends' comments as they read and enjoyed my photos and stories.
On earlier journeys, I sent emails with photos which didn't always attach. I'm not very tech savvy, but the Travelblog support and help for newbies has been excellent. Thanks so much for your good work connecting the world.

Reply to this Travelblog is the best way to research trips, look at amazing photos of places you aspire to visit & it is a social networking site for REAL travellers.
I joined to do research for my honeymoon & once I started writing blogs to remember the bits in between the sights/diving/safaris/treks I was addicted, if it’s possible I think I enjoy researching my trips even more now than I used to.
