Hello, we´re going to be arriving late at the airport in Kuala Lumpur (LCCT /KUL) and have a flight early the next day.
I´m not sure if this is the international airport or not since our arrival flight is domestic and the outbound flight is international but it says LCCT so I assume that´s lc for low cost. We´re flying with AirAsia in any case. Is the airport open all night and if so are there comfortable benches/couches/chairs to stretch out on for a few hours zzzzzzzzzzzzz??
Reply to this The LCCT terminal has NO where comfortable to sleep. Chairs are not bench style and have non movable arms between each seat. The only couches are in the departure lounges and it is incredibly cold and noisy in there so dont expect to sleep there either. Dont dare try and sleep on the floor of the airport if you are over 6 foot tall...my boyfriend was told (at gunpoint) he was "Too BIG" to sleep on the floor (even though there were lots of locals and other smaller people doing the same thing). You assumed correctly LC is for low cost, allthough IMO it could stand for low care just as easily. If you are over 6 foot tall they suggest you go outside and sleep on the grass..hmpf.
Reply to this thanks, i am about 5´9 so i suppose i´d be ok on the floor. what about switching terminals, i´ve heard the non-low cost terminal is ultra-modern. will they let us in though.....
Reply to this Hehe you should be fine at 5'9 - was about a month ago when we last passed through and they were doing a lot of work on the non LC terminal so we couldnt find a way in there but hopefully its a bit less hectic - not sure if they will let you in but good luck. Would like to know if you got in because we have to pass through there again next month and for obvious reasons boyfriend is a bit anti malaysian airport police 😊
Reply to this Air Asia has cheap rooms for like $27 a night, more I am sure than you want to pay but better than a really uncomfortable night at the LCCT which is in the middle of nowhere and
Kl Cheap Hotels a long ride away.
Fear of the Police is a good in airports, as they have you and they know it is going to cost you if you miss your flight, so they are extra voracious.
Reply to this The LCCT terminal is the low-cost terminal and does both international and domestic flights. I'm actually going to be sleeping overnight there tomorrow as I get there in the afternoon and my next flight isn't until the next day. I've slept there many times in the past and have had no problems although it is uncomfortable on the chairs/floor. Last time I was there I went to sleep in the chocolate lounge cafe on their nice comfy chairs and got a good few hours of sleep before the staff told me I couldn't sleep there :P
