Need advice on where to visit/stay on a short 5 day 4 night road trip from San Francisco to San Diego

Hey Guys
Hoping that some of you extreamlly well travelled individuals can help me out.
Im visiting so friends in California in September and I have 5 free days were they will be working. So my plan is to drive down to San Diego from San Francisco. I want to drive down via Yosemite Park and down the California/Nevada border.
So what im looking for are tips on interesting places to visit and stay.
Im on a budget so no fancy Hotels but my accomodation can otherwise be anything

You could do Yosemite and then also do Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks too. Reply to this
