I don't know if you can get it on Canada but I'd definitely recommend the Cashplus prepaid card, as i said i took it all round south america with me and it was accepted in most places. I ended up using it to pay for hostels and the odd hotel (when i wanted to treat myself) as well as in bars and restaurants. Whatever you do for, have a great time! Reply to this

Best scenerio i can think of is to take one visa and one mastercard, each from a different bank...keep them seperated in your storage...and if possible have a savings account and a credit card on each one that you can get to via internet banking.

That way if one gets cancelled/hung by the bank it wont affect the other one - this happens quite a bit. If an atm only does credit card or only does savings you can still get to money - this happens quite a bit too. And nearly everyone takes mastercard or visa but not some of the ones like diner or american express. And if stored seperately if you lose, bend, it stops working or gets stolen you have a back up.

There is a 'plus' symbol on the back (or just ask the bank) which means it will work internationally. There is another brand for mastercard but i'm not sure what it is...the 'plus' is for visa i think.

I have heard that the swipe technology is not used much in Europe, that it is all chip now. It is hard to find those CC's in the US, because it is so easy to steel the information off of them. Anyone know where to find one here in the US? Reply to this
