Looking to travel Asia for 5/6 months - help needed re. routes/travel. Thanks :-)
Hi guys,
I am looking to travel Asia in November for around 5/6 months or whenever money runs out really :-) I've just returned from travelling Thailand for three weeks and of course it has grabbed my attention (I didn't want to come home!!!)
Wanting really to do Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Thailand and India. Just looking on some advice for the best route to follow and also how long in each of these places (wanting to spend around 2 months is Thailand). Also, best travel - is it best to fly into Bangkok and fly from there or any other transport suggestions?
Any help would be great 😊
thanks
Lu xxxx
Reply to this I would take into account the seasons and of course perhaps doing it in a way that is geographically sensible. Indian and Indonesia are really big places though, you might need a lot of time for each unless you just want to do little sections.
Reply to this Thanks Danny, looks like I have a lot of planning to do.
Reply to this I would suggest Thailand- Cambodia-Malaysia- Singapore- Indonesia and Philippines because of its proximity to one another.
For best travel, the cheapest airline is usually Airasia-- which will start off from Malaysia to other destinations in SE Asia. I am not really sure about Thailand, but if i am not mistaken they have flights from Bangkok and Phuket to Kuala Lumpur. Coming from KL, you can get flights to Clark ( Philippines), Jakarta/Bandung/Yogyakarta ( Indonesia) and Singapore as well.
Reply to this Moving overland is the cheapest so I would go Siagon, Phnom Penh ,Siem Reap, Bangkok, Phuket or Krabi Perentian islands , KL, Singapore, Batam, BaLi, then look for a cheap flight to KL to India.
Air Asia is ussually the cheapest flights but inside the different countries you can get cheaper flights Lion, Nok Cebu Pacific, Tiger are all options depending where you are at and where you want to go to.
Reply to this I´ve travelled through asia for 7 month last year (from Nov. 2009). Our Route was Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, India, Nepal, Tibet, China. It was quite a big distance, but we really enjoyed it.
My favourite countries are Thailand and Nepal, but all these countries are great.
Reply to this go to China
China always amazes you in many aspects. Attractions information listed here is limited, but there are more china attractions waiting to your exploring. The highlights: from the barren lands in Tibet via the Silk Road to the magnificent Forbidden City and Great Wall in Beijing; from the amazing thousands of Terracotta Warriors in Xi'an to the intriguing Shanghai city; from the breath-taking scenic beauty of Yunnan to the original Asia's world city- Hong Kong. Here, we will introduce Guilin to you. Guilin have the reputation of having the most beautiful landscape under heaven, with green hills, limpid waters, pretty rocks and fantastic caves.
