Muno - that reminds me of a story this guy told me about a time before they had flush toilets in Glendive, MT. He was in there doing his business when this drunk woman came pounding on the door. "Just a minute." More pounding - "I know there is more than one hole in there and I know you can't be using both of them." Reply to this

The older outhouses typically had more than one hole in them. They were classified by the number of holes they had. I was talking to a guy who was older and told me a story about a time before they had indoor plumbing in the Glendive area of the state. He was in there doing his business when a knock came at the door. "Just a minute," was his reply. A louder pounding came to the door with a more than slightly intoxicated woman on the other side yelling, "I know there is more than one hole in there and you can't be using both of them!" HaHa! I wonder when we in the western world became privacy consious. All toilets here now are at least cordoned off in cubicles. I found the relative lack of toilet privacy in China and Kyrgyzstan hard to get used to. Many of the toilets in those places didnt even have doors, and people thought nothing of walking by and pointing and making comments. Reply to this
