I will arrive in Chengdu by air in early May for a visit. I have not decided how many days to stay there. I intend to travel by air from Chengdu to Hangzhou. Can I purchase an air ticket easily while I arrive in Chengdu? How many days in advance booking needed? Thanks
Reply to this Yes, you should reserve tickets two weeks in advance and inquiry what date is deadline, then pay cash (ticket out) before deadline. Hope it could help you out!
Reply to this If you are not in China before coming to Chengdu you can book your flight via an agent, there are several you can find on the internet (Chinahighlights, c-trip). The prices are cheaper the earlier you book. You get an e-ticket (just a booking number), it works perfectly, I have done it on many occasions. It is probably good to check how many flights per day there are to get an idea of when you need to book. In my experience the planes are sold out and Hangzhou is a popular Chinese tourist destination, so unless you are very flexible I would book it well ahead of time as Lynn suggests.
Reply to this Yes. you could purchase the airtickets when you are in Chengdu. But in China the airfare rate is different according to the date of departure. I suggest you check the tickets 1 week in advance.
