Graduates.com -
reunites friends around the world - it's a very simple concept - has low costs so whats a fair price for connecting long lost friends? free - IMO.
These guys have done it nicely - I hope they succeed.
I know a thing or two about operating free services - there are lots of options for marketing alongside the service so it can be kept free, they realise this so I'm posting this to spread the word.
Reply to this It's a labour of love... it has to be. Sometimes I just want to pass the buck on my alumni site, and that's for just 1 school, I can't imagine anything bigger.

Yeah it's gotta be partially - but I think if they stick to the basics, run sensible adverts then they have a shot at making a very popular and profitable site - even with the free service model.
Reply to this true true... I had 1 ad on my alumni site for about 6 months, made about $210 from it with only an average of 50-75 unique visitors a day. Not bad seeing that they had to sign up for something for me to get that money. That paid beyond the hosting fees for the year, AND got me a nice bottle of booze! heheh

So - what did that work out at as an hourly rate 😉
Reply to this I'd rather not think about it that way thank you very much. What would $210 get me in Hungry?
Reply to this sounds good to me!! :D I'll be over in a few!
My current Lager of choice is this:

Interesting to see that site still up, and still free. Most of the "free" Alumni sites have gone pay, or been bought by Classmates. Classmates just lost a class action suite a while back too regarding their subscription services.

I... I... I don't even recall this! Wow... I still run my Alumni site, although I just don't have time to "maintain" it. People still sign up, but nobody clicks through on advertising, nor do they stick around on a mostly dead site. I need to just let it die. lol

Wow... really? I don't remember this, nor do I remember drinking Kells, or drinking it frequently enough to enjoy it that much. I don't even drink anymore... so umm... wow! Sure is odd to come back and read old stuff.
Reply to this I'm surprised it's still there as well - I'd have thought that facebook would have made any of the alumni sites moot.
Btw $210 in Malaysia will get you just 21 pints of lager... as a result I'm not drinking much either!
