Winter weather in New Zealand
17 years ago, July 21st 2006 No: 1 Msg: #6752
I will be in New Zealand for most of August which I know is NZ's winter. Does anyone have a good idea of what it will be like. What should I expect? What type of clothing should I pack? Will it be raining a lot?

Thanks! Reply to this

It all depends on which area you'll be staying in most - the best way to dress throughout NZ is lots of layers. The South Island and all around the ski resorts can be quite chilly but I'm in Nelson and it's glorious sunshine and only rained once in the last week - check out my blog http://www.travelblog.org/Bloggers/kathleen/ to get an idea of the beach weather but as always in NZ expect the unexpected. Bear in mind the song-title 'Four seasons in one day' by the Kiwi band Crowded House and you'll be right!!!! Reply to this
