I am looking for suggestions for a travel route in India starting in Kolkata and ending near the border of Nepal

Hi, my friend and I are going to be spending a month in Kolkata doing volunteer work and then we have about 2 months to travel around the country and then make our way over to Nepal.

I'd love some advice about a route to take around India that will end around the northeast region close to the border of Nepal.

Thanks,

Rhianna,

The best way is to get into Kolkata, then go to Shillong, from there to Sikkim. Then you can come back to Kolkata and from here go to Bhutan, from Bhutan go to Nepal and then back to Kolkata. From Kolkata fo to Varanasi, then Agra, delhi, jaipur, pushkar, mumbai, goa and then down south to end your journey.

I just gave some travel tips to Dianna on hygeine, safety etc. Do let me know if you would like me to repeat.

When are you planning your trip? Reply to this

Just keep up to date with the current visa rules. Now they are saying that even if you have a multiple entry visa, go to India, leave, and want to return with time left on your visa you'll have to wait two months to return. I'm frustrated because I'm in India now and want to go to Nepal but may not get to.
Go to Travel dot State dot Gov and search for India new Visa regulations. I have no idea if this is real, I'm researching it now, but you should know before you book tickets. Reply to this
