Hi, my boyfriend and i would desperately love to visit Tokyo. Though it is the most expensive city in the world, and with a limited budget we dont intend to stay very long, we want to check out the cherry blossom and some ramen bars, so how long is enough for a short stay in japan? and is there any cheap way of doing it? x Reply to this

Hi Abi,

You would easily be able to fill as much time as you're able to stay, and there are 'cheap' ways to do most things.

Twin private rooms would be about 3000 yen at the cheaper end, and there are a few travel pass options .

Ueno Park is the biggest cherry blossom viewing venue in Tokyo.

Well, there are a lot of good places that you must see like the Imperial Palace (formerly known as Edo Castle) is a huge attraction, but it not open to the public but two days a year and the Meiji Shrine, built in 1920. I'd say at least 2 weeks will be a great chance to enjoy most of Japan. I haven't actually visited the country but it is one of my dreams and I have been planning it for quite some time now.
