When I was younger I used to collect foreign coins, which are now forgotten in the back of a cupboard at home. I'm wondering whether any of them might be rare, and worth something: are there any websites where I can find out about in-demand coins, or do you know of any coins that are valuable?
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that an outrageous piece of fortune will help me fund my next trip!

Have you tried showing them to museums or collectors?
Reply to this I used to have lots and lots or coins, from currencies not in circulation anymore. Over the years, almost all have been lost or given away.
I had coins from many of the current Euro countries, and ones from the former Soviet countries, also ones that are probably still in circulation such as the ones from African, Asian and N and S. American countries. I also had some huge notes from the major inflation former Yugoslavia.
