Meet other members of the TB community at one of the 3rd annual Christmas get-togethers!
HI, I'll be spending Christmas in Madrid as am working during Christmas, so if someone is passing through Madrid , let me know. Yuen
Reply to this I'll be happy to host something in
Seattle, USA if there is any interest between Dec 26 - Dec 30.
Reply to this Hi Sanjeev,
Please send a private message to the contact for Miami (see list in msg #1).
If the 25th doesn't suit them due to other commitments, and you are interested in hosting something on the 25th, then post back here. Thanks.
Reply to this Hey, guys..not only Christmas in the north you can enjoy summer time and Christmas here in the south and Chile specially. Here in Terra Extremus Hostel we´re organising our celebration of end of year. You're invited!!
Reply to this What is the date of your Christmas celebration, Terra Extremus? Also, which city is it in? Is there a fee?
I removed the link to your hostel, to discourage spammers from posting their links, but you can give us the details here and we will add your celebration to the list in msg 1 of this thread.
Also, you can put details about your hostel, on your profile page, and/or make a promotional blog about it if you want. 😊

Reply to this Hi Laurene,
Are you offering to organise/host something?
Reply to this Anyone in Havelock, Andamans, India on the 31st December?
Going there for some serious diving just after Christmas.
Peter
Reply to this It's minus 33C right now in Alberta...Havelock, Andamans, I think I'm gonna cry.
We'll be in La Crosse, Wisconsin, over Christmas. Guaranteed to be white. Any takers, No? Oh well.
Merry Christmas
Reply to this Jason, don't worry...I know you have many years of serious sunny Christmas in front of you. We have now move to Bangkok...and the least you can say, is that we do not feel Christmas coming.
I'm "happy" to go every month 3-4 days in a true "winter" place, aka Shanghai...just to feel a little, beside that, warm is definitely more welcome.
How long is you uni research going to last? Plans to go into the sun soon? and you see...we are so crazy....that we are going to ski in July! No seasons, just fun!
Merry Christmas to three of you...any latest pic of Kiva?
Reply to this Imagine a forest populated by mature trees over 10 metres high, sunshine flickering through their canopy, bathing the floor in dapples of white. A slight breeze compliments the shade, providing a cooling refuge from the tropical heat. At the edge of the forest an abundance of light nurtures an area of vigorous vegetative growth. Beyond which, a dazzling expanse of aqua-marine sea and white virginal sand, curves effortlessly away... past not a solitary soul.
Beach#7 14th February, 2005
You'll be guaranteed a white Christmas too.
As for sunnier times ahead. We're off to Ecuador in July for six months to do our Anthropological fieldwork. I'm gonna be doing an ethnographic study on the motivations of tourists. So if anyone plans to stop by in Saraguro the second half of next year, I'd really like to research you;-)
Reply to this Hi Jason,
Was fun to read your blog on Andamans...specially the last 4 lines...after all those years, you must regret not to have the pics, but be so happy that you've got Kiva today! Smile! Fun to see that this blog was dated 14th February...an hospicious date isn't it!
I'm sure we are going to have a great time! Hopefully diving will be up to the level. I have developped an allergy to overcharging hotels around Christmas/New Year. So the only way I found out of this is to go...to the basic. Yes they still "double" their price, but jumping from 10usd to 20usd...may seems the least of the worst. We have a place for 4 nights out of 7 on Havelock, we'll see if we need to camp the other nights...not that it bother me when we see the pics!
And on 14th of Feb...for once we'll be in a truly amazing place...not that far actually from Havelock...another trip, another style!
No Ecuador for us in July. But some fun just around the corner. We are starting with few days diving in Los Roques, Venezuala...any advise on the place? After this we fly to Lima (been there 12 times the last 7 years, time to bring my love one with me for some amazing food and pisco!). any plans for you to move around, would be fun to meet....we'll be all over SA in July.
After all, there are not that many crazy parents taking their little guys around on travelblog. There is Mell, Through my eyes, you, us...all different styles, all wonderful kids!
Merry Christmas
Reply to this I've just spent 4 months in
Brisbane, but I'm leaving to spend Christmas in Adelaide, so sadly I will be missing that meet-up; would have been great too as I've written a fair few blogs on my time in the city.
If anyone wants to do a nice Chrimbo meet in
Adelaide, I'm more than up for that...maybe even try and get up to the wine country for it too, if anyone's interested...?
Sepulchre
Reply to this It's been good to all travel blogger. Getting together in this Christmas season is a brilliant opportunity. This is a great moment to all of us, but I have official trip to Macau as a part of my job in
Reply to this Ah Sepulchre, pity you are not here in Brisbane for Christmas - I've been trying for a couple of years to get some TB people together for Christmas in Brisbane, but it never seems to eventuate.
Enjoy Christmas in my home town of Adelaide!
Reply to this Yes, it's a pity, would have been good to chew the fat on totalitarian states - looks like North Korea has been awesome - in all senses of the word! I'm thinking of Iran next. Don't ask me why, it's just an inexplicable urge you get as a traveller. I leave on Sunday 20th December for Radelaide! Perhaps we can meet up for mince pies and ales before then.
Here's to brissie!

Reply to this For sure, I'll send you a Private Message. Iran is definitely on my list, and so is Saudi Arabia - it is now opening up for tourists.
